NewsReady - Electronic Newsroom, EAS Alerts & Wire Service Capture

PCAPTURE.EXE / DBCAPTURE.EXE / ECAPTURE.EXE: (Backend)

These programs are similar in scope to WINCAP but they are used with our WANREADY product to facilitate the sending of stories - sound or other media files to 3rd parties or other WireReady users at other locations via FTP - UNC and SMTP (email) protocols...

DBCAPTURE is provided as a multi-path FTP in/out system where multiple UNC or FTP paths may be monitored and found files are moved to corresponding OUT paths via UNC or FTP based on a simple INI file. These products in certain configurations are also capable of encoding and decoding audio files using Microsoft's ACM engine (audio compression engine) which allows for encoding or decoding of audio using mp2, mp3, (LAME), wma, ra or other codec based algorithms.

When files need to be sent to FTP or web sites or to directories/removable media for archiving, audio files are routed through these applications which render the required compressed format in the background so the user does not have to wait for the request to be processed.

DBCAPTURE is also enabled when our WebReady product is purchased to act as a gateway to your web site and it uses sophistcated and virtually unlimited html/asp/xml/cgi based templates and macro scripts to render content from NewsReady to your web site(s) in a multitude of ways.

All of these programs typically run on the same computer as the WINCAP program. In the case of a single user - they all run from the system tray (depending on which functions a user needs). In a multi-user system - only one of each of these programs runs on the capture station.

In this fashion - the programs act as client/server gateways so any jobs originated in WR32 (from any computer on the LAN) are processed and moved from one machine on the LAN. In environments where TCP/IP/outside world access is restricted, these programs provide an administrator with the ability to have outside world connectivity without giving that connectivity to each and every workstation on the LAN.
