NewsReady - Electronic Newsroom, EAS Alerts & Wire Service Capture

Still using WireReady's original wire capture program? Step up to NewsReady for Windows...

NewsReady for Windows preserves everything you love about the original simple program - but adds better cutting and pasting and better printing and user friendliness with standard mouse and pull down functionality.
NewsReady for Windows provides a much improved wire capture system, with better standard Windows cutting and pasting and vastly improved print abilities including font and page size control. While preserving all the original F2, F3, F4, F5 keys of it's original
system, extensive pull down, left and right click menus have been added for easier use.

The word processor retains it's simple and efficient split screen design - but adds many new features, including a spell checker, font
and page size control, standard windows cut/paste drag and drop, seach and replace, and full support for Windows printers.

Unlike the original product, users can have up to 10 active notepads at the same time. The archiving system (called the Filelog)
provides multiple folders/categories for archiving and stores files in Windows compatible TXT file formats.

The biggest improvements come with aspects of complete newsroom production as the Windows version is not just a wire capture
product. WireReady pioneered the use of embedded audio clips in a typed newscast and we believe no other vendor does it as well as we do. Audio that comes in from standard audio editors (CoolEdit, Audition, Goldwave, Sound Forge, etc.) can be stamped into newscasts and news and sports stories with a single click of the mouse, and outcue, description and lengths are automatically included for easy readability on paper or on screen during news delivery. Wraps (pre-recorded) news can be done as easily as live newscasts and a keyboard, mouse, or remote GPI buttons on your console can be setup to trip the audio.

Audio is stored as standard WAV files so it works with all standard sound cards. The system can drive up to 3 channels on your console (for triple overlap) while having a separate sound card for auditioning (if you want more than one sound device) and it can
record as many things at the same time as your computer is equipped.

Automatic timed or trigger based recording is built in so you can autorecord satellite feeds, or competitor radio or TV newscasts.

As easily as you can print - you can now publish to your web site with WebReady - or podcast to one or more web or ftp sites with
PodcastReady, or push to FTP sites with FTPReady. We automatically convert ON THE FLY from mp3 to WAV or WAV to mp2 (as well as other supported codecs) so you'll never have to decode or encode a file by hand.   You can even click EMAIL on a story with sound and send it to someone's email program ready for reading and playback as mp3s.

For larger newsrooms - NewsReady's multi-user management features are robust, and include rundown management, script timing, and password security.

NewsReady also includes part of WireReady's ControlReady product built in - so you get several very easy to use instant replay and
live-assist cart wall screens. Since many stations have a separate Internet/news computer for WireReady next to their main automation system - it's nice to know your people have another powerful digital audio system to play or record audio anytime the main system is unwilling or unable to.

NewsReady for Windows is similar to our original wire capture system in that it is SIMPLE and AFFORDABLE. Pricewise, you may find we cost a fraction of competitor offerings and we do not require the use of specific file servers or database servers to run our system. Our Windows system will run on 2000, XP home and XP workstations, and on LANs, any server device or server operating system can be used, Windows, Linux, or network attached storage devices. All our software by default is stored in a shared folder just like our data - so that installing WireReady on your LAN is as simple as putting shortcuts and logins to our files from your machines' desktops. And with our site licenses, there is no need to mess with software activation codes, dongles, or security keys because we don't use them.

NewsReady is also compatible with NPR's Content Depot and can also automatically pull down audio files from FTP or other 3rd party devices.
