The SRC-16 replaces original AT1616L relay controllers. Please note many Broadcast Tools switchers including the SS4.2, SS16.4 and ACS 8.2 PLUS switchers have built-in PIP logic/trigger inputs and relay outputs, and the SRC16 is not required to catch satellite closures if you have one of these newer switchers. IF you are replacing an AT1616L or have a legacy switcher lacking built-in trigger inputs, then the SRC-16 is the item to buy. Also if you are using our Windows versions, and you've run out of logic inputs, and need to expand, you can connect one or more of the SRC-2 or SRC-16 controllers to your computer to give you as many trigger inputs and outputs as your application requires.

Broadcast Tools Description
The Broadcast ToolsŪ SRC-16 is a computer interface to the real world. Connection through an RS-232, RS-422 or RS-485 serial port with baud rates up to 38400 the SRC-16 can notify your PC software program that any of 16 optically isolated inputs has been opened or closed and allows your software to control sixteen SPDT, 1-amp relays. The user is supplied with three pre-programmed format selections. The "PIP" GPI format is used on most of our audio switchers, the AT-1616 format is used on one of our most popular serial GPIO interfaces and the short ASCII format, which is used by a number of radio automation suppliers. Also, two units can be operated in a standalone mode (master/slave mode) to form a "Relay extension cord," with sixteen channels of control in each direction. The SRC-16 may be expanded to 64 inputs x 64 relays. Optional external Ethernet and USB capabilities may be added. The SRC-16 is supplied with LED indicators to display input and relay status. Three front panel LED's display power, serial transmit and receive data. Plug-in euroblock screw terminals are provided for ease of wire installation/removal. The half-rack chassis allows two units to be rack mounted on the optional RA-1 rack shelf.
