ControlReady version 6.5 and later now has BUILT IN Music Scheduling

Today many stations use stand-alone music schedulers with their automation systems. They work, and we recommend several.   These stand-alone products have years of feature development and in the hands of a properly trained professional can do incredible things for a station. For this reason, WireReady software will continue to import logs from 3rd party traffic and music scheduling systems and we will continue to innovate ways to streamline how logs are imported to our system.

For many years our ControlReady product has been able to merge music and traffic logs from disparate 3rd party systems so stations don't have to. We now also can schedule the importation of logs AUTOMATICALLY so operators do not have to "walk" files over to the automation system. We also support autoreconciliation formats as well.

But now - stations who cannot afford the time or expense to run a separate music scheduling system do not have to.   ControlReady now has basic music scheduling features BUILT IN, and can schedule your music for you without the need to maintain a separate database program and without the need to import a separate file. Stations who do not need the sophistication of these 3rd party standalone systems no longer need to buy more than they need.

For years stations have paid staff to use expensive music scheduling systems to generate music playlists. In the old days, when stations were live 24/7 and jocks used paper - this made sense. Times have changed. With HD2 and IBOC, stations can't afford the time and personnel to manage playlists on multiple stations, and even standalone stations are beginning to question the ongoing expense in money and time maintaining a separate computer system JUST for music scheduling. For stations who run satellite or live formats and do hard-drive music only during certain day parts, they might not need the features and expense of a separate stand-alone music scheduling system.

Years ago when stations started to automate and automation systems lacked good music schedulers, station staff started investing time generating music logs in one system that then had to be merged and imported into the automation system. And every step of the way - station owners know that operators can make errors.

Now - as reported in the press, one of the leading and most popular stand-alone music scheduling systems in the world is now owned by the largest radio group operator in the US. It has also been reported in the press that some radio owners are not happy about this and may stop using that system. That radio group doesn't just own and sell one music scheduling system, they sell another stand alone music scheduling system through another software company they own as well. You might be surprised to know how many radio software systems are now owned or controlled by large radio groups in the US.

We think this is a great time to innovate and re-invent the way radio stations schedule their music. And while one company is
advertising a standalone Windows upgrade to an a very popular stand-alone DOS product, we think that many stations should consider upgrading their automation system to ELIMINATE the need entirely to schedule your music on a separate system.

Stations around the world can eliminate the extra step and expense of maintaining and using a separate music scheduling system with their automation system.

WireReady's built in music scheduler is not just auto-filling random files from a list of music. Rather, our software has a simple
one-time setup screen where you plug in artist, title and other separation and rule sets, and then you're done. Real music
scheduling. And best of all ITS FREE. Why take the time to learn a separate possible complicated music scheduling system that has features you probably don't need. Why then have to go through hoops to get that data into the automation system every day?

Why maintain TWO music databases? Every time you add songs to your automation system why would anyone want to type in that same information to their music scheduling database.

Now you don't have to.

Simply put - we're going to make standalone music schedulers obsolete for a lot of radio stations. We're starting off simple   Many stations justifiably need the power and features of a standalone music scheduler and paying hundreds of dollars to buy or rent these systems may still make sense for years to come.   But out of the gate, we believe our built in scheduler works and works for a wide variety of formats and stations.   When you calculate the hardware, software and most of all your personnel's time savings and when you calculate the lowered risk of interface malfunctions, it's easy to see why the automation system SHOULD schedule the music for you without a single click of the mouse on a daily basis.

Over time, we will gradually raise the bar adding more scheduling features that stations ask for.   Most importantly - if you use
Controlready- and our music scheduler doesn't have what you need - TELL us and we'll try to add the additional rule sets to the next version.

Because WireReady offers free lifetime upgrades for our windows products for stations who carry a support plan in any year - our
built in automatic music scheduling will become better year after year and it's one of the biggest areas of R&D we are now investing in for our automation system.

The door has been opened. Get ready for a flood of new music scheduling possibilities in future releases.

While our music scheduling right now is VERY simple with basic artist and title separation and some other rulesets, our ears are open, and we're ready when you are.
