DR 10 OVERVIEW The DR10 allows an incoming phone line to be used for remote control, remote recording, or remote on-air live feeds to be fed using a regular POTS line and telephone. The DR10 does not directly connect to the computer. Rather the DR10's main purpose is it acts as a hybrid for passing audio between the phone line and audio chain. It also decodes touch tones into closures which can be read and acted upon by the computer via the USN/AT 1616L controller (also required). Automation programs (scripts) setup in the software running on the computer are user-configurable to do different things based on the touch tones that are decoded. Overview When the phone rings, the auto-coupler (DR10) picks up the phone and sends a signal (from the AUX terminal) to the USN1616. The USN1616 tells the computer via the RS-232 port, and we do our thing. Anytime the caller hits a touch-tone, the DR-10 throws a relay, which the USN1616 detects (these are the wiring connections), and we do whatever you've programmed us to do on the basis of the tones. When a hangup occurs, the CPC signal your phone company uses causes the DR10 to hangup and send a signal on the CALLEND terminal. The USN1616 receives the signal, sends it to the COM port, and we reset the program for the next call. Wiring and Setup Information can be found in the CircuitWerkes DR10 manual provided by the manufacturer: Circuitwerkes includes documentation on how to wire audio from the phone line, and to the computer (or switcher if supplied) depending on your needs. Closure outputs which correspond to each touch tone button on the phone are also labeled. These points are wired to inputs on the AT1616L of your choosing. (You will tell us which inputs you've selected so we can program the system accordingly or you can fax/email the fill in chart below. There are many useful programming features that are done directly on the DR10 from a phone/phone line to program such things as passwords that caller must key in to proceed. Note that some of the terminals on the DR-10 are Open Collector. If these are to be used, jumpers must be modified on the AT1616L. Refer to the AT1616L manual for the jumper information.
