SSC4 Satellite Channel Controller The SCC4 can be driven in two ways: Option 1: If you only select 2 channels on each "SIDE" Download the "preset" channel values once and control it via relay closures. See SCC4 docs on downloading notes. Once downloaded, shorting the following contacts will select between the A1/A2, and B1/B2 settings: Shorting 1 and 2 selects the A1 PRESET Shorting 2 and 3 selects the A2 PRESET Shorting 4 and 5 selects the B1 PRESET Shorting 5 and 6 selects the B2 PRESET Thus if you hook up these pairs to 4 relays on the USN1616, you can switch by PULSING the appropriate relay in the Playlist. Option 2: For UNLIMITED channel selects on each side. Redownload it with CartReady's COMTALK command every time you wish to send channels. When using Option 2, you HARD-WIRE the SCC4 to one PRESET on each side. EX: If you hard-wire A1, you run a jumper between 1 and 2. If you hard-wire B1, you run a jumper between 4 and 5. Thus since A1 corresponds to "1" in the download, and B1 corresponds to "3", you'd send the following sequences in the COMTALK command... You MUST hard-wire the presets since you don't want the SCC4 to accidentally flip to the A2 if you are always driving the A1 etc. 1) Remember, COMTALK should be set to the COM port you physically connected the SCC4 to on your computer. 2) Protocol is always 2400,N,8,1. If you hit enter on SCC4 controller under HARDWARE, it will do this automatically. 3) The string you send is: --[PRESET][SAT CHANNEL]q where -- signifies two spaces, where [PRESET] is either 1 or 3 in our example where [SAT CHANNEL] is the channel you want where q is q (i.e always end with a q) Thus --110q would make the A1 PRESET be channel 10 since you've hard-wired A1 always on, your A side of the sat card would be on 10. (-- is two spaces!) WIREREADY NSI (800) 833-4459 (508) 879-0080 FAX 879-1199 TECHDOCS\INSTALL\SCC4.INS
