According to our records, Reuters uses the Mainstream IDR system in almost all of their subscriber locations. The Mainstream IDR is a white box about the size of a pizza box with an LCD screen. On the back of this device is a 9 pin female connector. This is the serial data port. Included in this handout is information how to make a cable between the IDR and a COM port on the computer you are connecting Reuters to. We have preset WireReady with a default setting to Reuters (ex: 1200 n81) which may or may not match the settings on your Mainstream IDR box. You can either change the baud rate and parity etc. on the Mainstream to match our settings using their push-buttons and our instructions, or you can go into our SETUP program and change our settings to match the preset rate on the Mainstream box.
