AlertReady - Electronic Newsroom, EAS Alerts & Wire Service Capture

Architecture of AlertReady

This application is used currently by hundreds (and thousands) of broadcasters to capture news and weather services. AlertReady includes this software pre-configured and licensed specifically to capture EAS feeds.

This application can be used to email if WINCAP ever stops working. If WRCHECK is run from a separate machine on your LAN, it can also alert you even if the computer running WINCAP should fail.

Both the above programs are single EXE files with corresponding INI files that control their configuration. WINCAP also writes to a $capture.cap file which can archive the last 7000 messages. Use of this file is not required for basic email distribution of incoming files. This file can be read by our NewsReady program (sold separately) if you want to use this feature. Thousands of broadcasters already own NewsReady and all NewsReady versions can read this file if you already have that software.

OCX Component
A single DLL file is added to your Windows system directory. This file provides us EMAIL compatibility with all known email servers you currently use. It supports SMTP, NNTP, IMAP, ESMTP, MIME, BASE64 and UUENCODE requirements. If your current Internet provider or in-house email system users one of these server protocols for sending, our software can send outbound messages through it to reach its intended target email addresses.
