It remains whatever it was at load time. The timer left timer is adjusted accordingly. If the cart is played, the timers are the same as if As=0

=========================================================

Version: 7.504 Release Date: 05/19/1999

---------------------------------------------------------

Enhancements: 1) Added /a parameter to the command line. This instructs WireReady to add a new user if the user does not exist. The following (and more) uses are allowed: manager /a Prompts and creates if user does not exist. manager u=username /a Creates if user does not exist manager s=\wire\username /a Creates if user does not exist. If the user exists in \SYSTEM\$USER.CFG, the /a parameter has no effect. If the user does not exits, it is added to \SYSTEM\$USER.CFG and \WIRE\INSTALL\COMMAND\$MAKEUSR.CMD is processed for the new user. The access to $user.cfg now includes possible write access and is share compatible. When many users log on at the same time and at least one of them is new, you may see a message like "Waiting to access \WIRE\SYSTEM\$USER.CFG" for a brief time. Press ESCAPE to abort. Supported lines in $MAKEUSR.CMD: d, s, c, +, a, Q, D, I, W, K, S, D Unsupported lines in $MAKEUSR.CMD: v, C, z, f The $MAKEUSR.CMD file is called before the window manager starts, so progress indication is limited. Messages will be output to the screen. The use of $MAKEUSR.CMD is compatible with the setup program.

Note: Autorecord deletes the old cart at the start of the command. Therefore, if an autorecord command is stopped before it is through, the library information will be lost.

Au 0  functions as before.

Maintenance:

A warning is displayed when users select "extend library" under library utilities. The warning tells users to make sure no carts are playing or recording. It also tells users to restart CartReady when the extension is complete. This warning was added to try and prevent WRBUG 591. WRBUG 591 is not yet fixed because I cannot replicate it.

Version: 7.202 Release Date: 08/26/1998

---------------------------------------------------------

Enhancements: User: Carl Date: 9/04/98 Time: 10:48a

We improved the way the play list displays running

times. Overlaps

for plays are taken into consideration. The same overlap rules

that

apply to calculating overlaps at play time are used. However,

rotations

are ignored. They are treated as if they were a skip command.

Also,

Overlaps across scheduled breaks are ignored.

User: Carl Date: 9/03/98 Time: 3:25p

Added functionality to SHIFT_F3 in the playlist.

If the playlist is stopped, and the current line is a play,

SHIFT_F3 brings up a prompted box. Users specify how many

seconds from the end they want to start playing from. The system

should start the play as if it were already at that point. Fade

and

overlap rules should be obeyed. Support for the BE HERE AT

command is NOT implemented.

This function allows users to:

i) Test how their fades will sound

ii) Start a long cart somewhere in the middle.

User: Carl Date: 9/02/98 Time: 5:31p

Added functionality to CTRL-F6 in the playlist. If the current

command

is a play, the CartReady editor is called when CTRL-F6 is called

User: Carl Date: 9/02/98 Time: 3:29p

Added functionality to CTRL-M in a play list. If the current

line is a

play, The Cart Modify Screen is called. This lets users modify

cart

information such as Description or out cue from the play list

screen,

User: Carl

Comment:

Added Support for Home drive.

IF you place HOME=<PATH>, WireReady will look for $id.dat in

<path> and set <path > to the root directory.

This feature was not designed for end users -> use at own risk.

This feature was added to assist the debugging process.

Maintenance:

User: Carl Date: 8/28/98 Time: 3:40p

Fixed Wrbug 577

Import New/Changed resulted in 0-lenght, unplayable carts

We were not keeping track of skipped carts properly.

Carts whose audio files were never imported were being added

to the library.

User: Carl Date: 8/28/98 Time: 2:03p

Fixed Wrbug 579

When importing, The DAT file (for create new library) is properly

written back when "preserve existing labels is used."

User: Carl Date: 8/28/98 Time: 10:40a

Comment:

Fixed WRBUG 582.

Delayed Playing from the NotePad.

Verify_share() was getting called twice each time ALT_F3 was

pressed.

One of Verify_shares()'s tasks takes up to a second on some

systems.

Verify_share() has been altered so that it only checks for share

the first

time it is called. The error value is stored in a static

variable.

The functionality of Verify_share needs to be checked.

User: Carl Date: 9/01/98 Time: 9:47a

Fixed Wrbug 561

The Overwrite mode does not work with mass import (or export).

We removed all overwrite mode except "no warning". The

overwrite mode is set to "no warning" on startup. The

configuration

screens list only one option: "no warning"

User: Carl Date: 8/31/98 Time: 4:56p

Fixed Wrbug 566

Cannot play cart after sorting.

This problem also existed for copying carts.

A call to LoadCart() was made without restoring the

system sort order (by code). LoadCart() may fail if the

sort order is not by code. This is an intermittent problem

User: Carl Date: 8/31/98 Time: 3:52p

Fixed Wrbug 583

Cannot Export Carts to the root directory

The code was inserting an extra backslash on the end of

the path. The system interpreted this as a server name.

The system delayed looking for the nonexistent server name.

User: Carl Date: 8/31/98 Time: 12:35p

Fixed Wrbug 576

GPF if access cart that is removed from library (i.e. autorecord)

The screen is not redraw until the user hits a key.

If a Cart has been added or deleted, the cart browse is

resorted.

SwapSortList() was modified.

User: Carl Date: 9/08/98 Time: 4:40p

Comment:

Fixed WRbug 540

Mixed up audio during auto-record; audio card contention does not

work

Active carts are now properly shut done if the record cart

override.

The shutdown sequence calls clear_ringbuffer() which prevents old

audio from being used.

=========================================================

Version: 7.201 Release Date: 07/21/1998

---------------------------------------------------------

Enhancements:

Maintenance:

1) WRBUG 571 Sound Blasters Record/Play bog down.

2) WRBUG 565 Cannot configure drive management on new system

---------------------------------------------------------

=========================================================

Version: 7.200 Release Date: 06/24/1998

---------------------------------------------------------

Enhancements: 1) F10, not ESCAPE exits from the world menu.

2) Reports generated during music or commercial log imports are

no longer automatically printed. Instead they are sent to the

viewer. Users can scroll through the report, print it, or save

it to disk.

3) Partial year 2000 support. Dates in the wire browser, archive

browser and the DOS browser are now four digits. Dates are no

longer checked during wire browser searches. Archive browser

dates are still checked during searching (still not year 2K

compliant). The archive save box supports 4 digit dates. The

wire and archive systems will support dates to 2155. The DOS

browser will support dates to 2099.

4) We added a new token to the CTRL_F10/autoprint/email header

system. It is @_DOS2K_DATE_@. It works the same as @_DOS_DATE_@

except that the date is 4 digits instead of 2.

5) CNN support. The CNN_VBI driver (93) now looks for a 4 digit

date in the

date and time string. Invalid years will cause the driver to use

the current computer time. The CNN_UPL driver (94) was

unchanged. It does not look for a date string. It uses the

current computer time.

6) Sorting in the Cart Library. The Cart library browser is

changed.

The first three columns are code, description, and length. The

4th column is variable, depending on the sort field. The 4th

column is artist if the sort field is code, description, length,

export status, or artist. Otherwise, the 4th column is the sort

field. Start and Stop dates are both displayed if either is the

sort field. The default sort field is code, but the current sort

field and position is remembered when users exit and re-enter the

browser. F8 lets users resort the library. F2 lookup

automatically changed the sort field to code.

7) There is a new configuration screen for changing the default

record drive. It is accessible through F9 setup screens, or by

pressing F10 from the cart deck, or by pressing ALT_D from the

cart deck. The old drive management screen no longer displays or

lets you change the default recording drive. ReelReady has been

reassigned to ALT_Y from the cart deck.

The new default record drive configuration is user based. Each

user can

set his/her own default drive. Note: upgrades to this version

will change

the default drive to the first one.

Maintenance:

1) WRBUG 558 Print cart library only prints 1020 items

2) WRBUG 562 Invalid board contention on playlist startup.

3) Minor display problem: board2 and board3 now are displayed in

separate areas on the status line

4) Playlist view slightly changed. Play lines contain code,

description, artist, intro time, length, and air time. Play

commands that cannot be located in the library are displayed as

"Not Available". Air times for schedule breaks and music breaks

now line up with air time for play commands.

5) Users no longer can overwrite more than 5 minutes of an audio

file. Instead of getting a yes/no option, they get a message

stating that they cannot overwrite more than 5 minutes of audio.

6) The countdown timer in the playlist was brought back. It is

displayed in the air time column while the cart is playing.

7) Fixed date lock problem for 2000 for CNN

=========================================================

Version: 7.019 Release Date: 09/03/1997

---------------------------------------------------------

Enhancements:

1) We Added support for 8Khz for the SB16

2) We added an EXPORT command to the play list. It is the last

command in the selection box. The export command exports to wav

files only. This may change in the future. It takes cart code

and path as parameters.

3) We added a drive field to the auto-record. Users pick the

drive that

they want the cart recorded to.

Maintenance:

1) Work to reduce audible pops with the SB16. Pops were the

result of the SB16 hardware itself. If it ends on high volume,

the next play is likely to pop, no matter how much latter the

play is. We "solved" the pop by employing a .05 second linear

fade at the end of all SB16 carts. Carts that are stopped before

their natural end (F4 stop is one example) delay for .01 second,

then fade for .03 seconds. The delay is necessary to avoid

interfering with the DMA controller.

2) You can stop play lists while exports are active. The partial

export is

deleted if you do this.

---------------------------------------------------------

=========================================================

Version: 7.018 Release Date: 08/21/1997

---------------------------------------------------------

Enhancements:

1) We added a ! line to $config.wr. It is a version line.

Example: ! 7.018 2.13

The 7.018 means it is version 7.018. 2.13 is the version on the

config file itself. This is more useful to programmers than tech

support. When WireReady detects a version change, it will back

up the old $config.wr file in

\WIRE\BACKUP\CONFIG\{USERNAME}\CONFXXXX.WR. XXXX is the version

number. USERNAME is blank if the environment is SA. If there is

no version number in the config file, XXXX is 0. This will

backup users

config files automatically when they upgrade.

2) We added new audio board mapping parameters and change the

Audio board mapping configuration screen. See

I:\THEDRAW\CARTRDY\MAPPING.ANS for details. Each play list is

now assigned its own audio board, as well as its own audio

overlap board. There are now a total of 26 board mappings. The

screen only shows 25, because overlapping in live assist is not

active yet.

Maintenance:

1) WRBUG 444 We changed the criteria for recording from pause and

rerecording. The system will warn you only when you are about to

loose 5 minutes or more during a recording

2) WRBUG 447 Home and End do not work in deck 2 if deck 1 empty

---------------------------------------------------------

=========================================================

have the

LAN. The library is updated every 5 seconds.

---------------------------------------------------------

=========================================================

Version: 7.002 Release Date: 03/17/1997

---------------------------------------------------------

Enhancements:

1) We Added "Show Library Statistics" to the Library Maintenance

Utility.

2) We Added "Extend Library" to the Library Maintenance Utility.

3) We introduced a new kind of lost cart called the á cart.

i) ŕ carts are now resurrected carts which had no

about the library data. The *.DAT file may have been

missing. This is likely to occur if the program crashed

while recording

ii) á carts are resurrected carts which had duplicate cart

codes. For example, if cart code "acbdefgh" exists in

the library, and another "abcdefgh" is found during

rebuild, the new cart will be "áabcdefg".

á carts were introduced to help track down problems with

autorecording. á carts can also help to

resolve duplicate cart codes if two libraries are combined

into one.

It is normal to see multiple ŕ and á codes with the same

code.

IMPORTANT NOTE: "Find Lost Carts" is a much better

alternative to "Create New Library". "Find Lost Carts" will

never delete or modify an existing cart. "Create New Library"

starts from scratch and there is a possibility that existing valid

codes will be changed to á codes. Only run "Create New Library"

when you are forced to. If you must run "Create New Library",

run "Find Lost Carts" first and delete or rename all á carts. If

the library is corrupt, you cannot run "Find Lost Carts". In

this case,

examine all á carts after a rebuild. Make sure none of them

should not be the latest cut.

4) We removed "Integrity Check." This will be added back in

latter. The existing code was altering the library in unintended

ways.

5) Sorry Greg, but the auto-extend on rebuild did not make it in

this version. We will get to it later.

Maintenance:

1) WR7002 looks for the CartReady library files in a different

directory from version 6. The new directory defaults to

\WIRE\USERS\PUBLIC\AUDIODAT for a LAN, and \WIRE\AUDIODAT for a

stand alone.

2) All changes in non CartReady code in wr6106-wr6110 have been

ported to this version. Bug fixes and enhancements that apply in

CartReady have also been ported.

---------------------------------------------------------

=========================================================

Version: 7.001 Release Date: 02/18/1997

---------------------------------------------------------

Enhancements:

The following changes are in CartReady

Added the following capabilities to the new save screen

- F2 allows viewing of the library with no abilities

- F9 saves to a rotation

- F5 prints the save box

- F7 exports the cart

- The category and status fields are fully functional. Setting

them up is under F9, CartReady setup from the world menu

- F7 from the library browser (view all info) now uses the save

box for the screen.

- Many new button boxes were added throughout the program

(CartReady)

- Added the beginnings of a audio board debug screen to the

program. IT is located from the world menu under F8.

Maintenance:

1) All changes in non CartReady code in wr6101-wr6105 have been

ported to

this version.

2) The rotation Mgr did not handle missing carts properly

3) Display of the date and time in the save box was bad if the

time or date was less than 10. Ex, 02/01/97 would look like 2/

1/97. Also, if the date is invalid, it will now display 00/00/00

00:00 and it would display a bogus number.

---------------------------------------------------------

=========================================================

longer supports "posting" to browser support with SNAP customers.

They must use CTRL_F10 instead.

2) We added "Export file in ASCII format" to F10 other from the

---------------------------------------------------------

=========================================================

Version: 6.101 Release Date:

---------------------------------------------------------

Enhancements:

1) Reworked StormReady. Check Project database for details.

Major enhancements are:

A) New Blue/Black screen and new option box

B) Up to 9 search/sort/view specifications can be saved per

user. Users search by status, category, absolute time, and

relative time. Users can select from one of nine views. A view

specifies the order in which elements of an entry appear in the

browser. Users can specify up to 4 sort levels. Sorting is

based on status, category, name, town, time updated, and id code.

ALT_1 through ALT_9 are hot keys to invoke these 9

specifications. Users can also save and load specifications from

F9 from the world menu.

C) Users can print and archive browsers greater than 1000 lines.

Archived

browsers greater than 1000 lines will be split into several

archive entries. The user has to specify the name of each entry.

D) Users can print mailing labels. F5 gives the user the option

of printing mailing labels or the standard browser. The mailing

labels must be 1 7/16 inches wide (top to bottom).

E) There are less keystrokes to enter or modify entries. Uses

to not have to press ENTER to type in data. Enter advances the

highlight bar to the next line. Mailing information is separate

from status, category, name, town, etc. so the user can identify

the necessary data.

F) Normally, the StormReady data remains in memory when users

exit to the World Menu. They have the option (F10, ALT_Q) to

free the memory when they exit.

G) Users now have the option of resetting all entries in the

StormReady database file, or just those in the browser.

H) Statuses can Categories are user definable. There are 26,

each associated with a letter of the alphabet. Users setup

statuses and categories from F9 from the World Menu. Status 'z'

is reserved for the reset status. This is originally configured

as "Unknown".

I) New files have been added, and old files have been moved.

$STORM.DAT is the StormReady database. Its format has not

changed, but its location has been moved to ...\PUBLIC\STORM

(LAN) or ...\WIRE\STORM (SA).

$STORM.STS is a text file containing the user defined statuses.

It is located in ...\PUBLIC\STORM (LAN) or ...\WIRE\STORM (SA).

$STORM.CAT is a text file containing the user defined categories.

It is located in ...\PUBLIC\STORM (LAN) or ...\WIRE\STORM (SA).

$SRSHOW.DAT is a binary file containing the nine programmable

show specifications. It is located in

...\USERS\{USERNAME}\SYSDAT (LAN) or ...\WIRE\SYSDAT (SA).

2) We added Folder maintenance under NewsReady Setup. F9 from

the world menu/

Maintenance:

Fixed WRBUG 269, 266, 267, 268, 146

Bug 268 required work in the way available memory is reported.

Prior to this version, we only report available memory in the

operating system. There is also available memory in the heap in

our program. Here is what the new screen reports:

1) Total available memory. This is what it sounds like.

Normally, this is

all you will need to look at.

2) Largest available continuous block. Some areas of our

program require large amounts of continuous memory. This value

reports this. I don't check for blocks over 2M. We rarely need

blocks over 128K.

3) Available system memory. This is the memory that DOS or

Pharlap can give us. Some parts of our program cannot use memory

in the heap, and must get it from here.

4) Available heap memory. This is memory that was once allocated

by our program. Our compiler has not returned it to the operating

system, but our program still has access to it. We put this value

in just in case SalesReady

develops the nasty habit of bringing windows programs to their

knees.

5) Used heap memory. This is included for symmetry.

Note: Due to compiler memory management, it is normal to see

variations in

available memory on the order of 10 bytes. Memory leaks will be

evidenced by consistently lower available memory totals.
